Sponsor Spotlight: How OnPoint Community Credit Union Makes a Difference

NCEF would not be where it is today without the constant support of today’s sponsor spotlight, OnPoint Community Credit Union. OnPoint CCU was founded in 1932 by 16 teachers and though they have grown over the years to include more than 460,000 members across Oregon, they have stayed true to their roots as they generously support students, teachers, and schools. Looking at their 2021 Community Report, it is easy to see how they continually make a difference in communities across Oregon.

Across the state, OnPoint provided aid to its members, both individuals and small businesses, throughout the COVID-19 pandemic in a myriad of ways. While uncertainty was high and many financial institutions decreased their services or even closed locations, OnPoint was able to shift policies to keep everyone safe while increasing their capacity to support communities. OnPoint was able to help businesses get $58 billion in Paycheck Protection Program loans while also opening 20 new locations across the state. In each community where they opened a new branch, OnPoint donated $2,500 to a local non-profit. Talk about putting your money where your mouth is!

The numbers speak for themselves; OnPoint donated over 2.25 million dollars to charitable initiatives and organizations in 2021. This generosity includes donating over $700,000 to DEI focused organizations and $300,000 to organizations focused on a more sustainable future. OnPoint staff logged more than 15,000 volunteer hours and the OnPoint Prize for Excellence in Education was awarded to a deserving school for the 12th year in a row.

While it is clear that OnPoint makes a difference all across Oregon, NCEF can attest to the fact that they make a huge difference right here in the North Clackamas School District. Thanks to OnPoint, things like our scholarships and teacher grants are possible. We are beyond grateful for their support and are proud to be associated with such a pillar of strength in the community. Thank you, OnPoint!
