Sponsor Spotlight: Willamette View
Our next sponsor spotlight highlights the incredible work done by Willamette View. Willamette View was founded in 1955 as a not-for-profit Life Plan Community. Willamette View provides housing for seniors, yes, but they are so much more. As a local, 501c(3), Willamette View centers the experience of its residents in everything it does. They offer over 150 classes and committees, five different dining options, 27 acres of beautiful grounds, and on-site services like a salon and a post office. Willamette View helps those in their community flourish.
NCEF has benefited greatly from the continual support and generosity demonstrated by Willamette View and are grateful for the opportunity to speak on the power of their community. Willamette View, in addition to creating a comforting and supportive home for seniors, supports the greater community by way of volunteering, sponsoring, and donating. Articles on their website detail the culture of volunteering, giving examples of residents who have worked with organizations for upwards of a decade. Some residents help in the elementary school located only two blocks from campus. And it only takes a moment reviewing their annual Gratitude Report to see how they prioritize giving back to the community financially.
In 2021, Willamette View donated $4,908 to the Oak Grove Elementary Backpack Buddies program. Willamette View also hosted four car washes, three benefitting groups in the North Clackamas School District. The Milwaukie High School and Clackamas High School dance teams, as well as the The Rex Putnam Kingsmen Thunder Drumline, all expressed gratitude for the support given through these car washes. Of course, Willamette View has consistently sponsored the North Clackamas Education Foundation and our gratitude knows no bounds.
